Default Mouse Hotkeys

Hello, im starting this thread to ask if there's a way to keybind/assign an skill (skill1,2,3 etc..) to a Mouse button. Or if there's any legal program with this option?

I want to know this becouse I just started a monk, and clicking the party members pannel and then click the skills is too slow, and im not used to use the numbers at the keyboard.

If there's no way to assign skills to a mouse button, how do you deal to heal fast the party members?

Just brought up the Controls menu and tried to change Skill 1,2,etc to use a mouse button but it wouldn't allow me.
As for using another program, I'm not sure as I'm assuming that would be considered a '3rd Party Program'.

Really only way to monk well is to use the number keys. I usually just put my main heals on 1-4 and other skills I don't use as much on 5-8.

assign the things you want to useless keys and then bind the mouse using your mouse software to those keys.

While changing what you are used to takes time I really would recommend getting used to a keyboard for selecting party members and skill while monking. Then again I click to move and we will not have that option in GW2

You can directly assign a skill to the thumb buttons, (mouse4, mouse5) if your mouse has them. In the Control options simply hit the mouse button instead of a key when assigning a button to an action. I have mouse4 set to "Target nearest foe" and mouse5 set to "Attack" - makes it easier to play when the Chihuahua is sleeping in my arms (leaving me only one free hand).

The other mouse buttons (left/mouse1, right/mouse2, and wheel/mouse3) can not be reassigned, probably because they are used for movement, attacking, camera panning, etc.

I can confirm this post!

I use my two mouse thumb buttons for skill7 and skill8.

Many of the better or "gaming" mice come with thumb buttons. It depends a bit on how much you want to spend. The mice with the extra buttons are in the $30 (and up) range. The Logitech M500 is a good example.
